Hey! I’m Justin MacFayden, a West Coast based filmmaker focused on character-driven documentary storytelling.

Much of my work has focused on drawn to stories about artists, musicians, outsiders, and communities navigating identity, ambition, and cultural preservation.

My films have screened at festivals including the San Francisco International Film Festival, Sound Unseen, The Virginia Film Festival, Beyond the Short, and more, with several projects receiving awards along the way.

My background has spanned legal advocacy, technology, and music, all of which continue to influence the kinds of stories I’m interested in telling.
